Time for some Cheesecake!

Cheesecake is an amazing and delicious dessert. There are many different kinds of cheesecake, including traditional, New York style, ricotta, vegan, and Chicago style. Last Saturday, I was driving around Tsukuba and was in the mood for something sweet. I had worked hard all week, so I deserved a treat. Driving around, I saw a familiar orange sign and remembered cheesecake. I turned left and headed into Cheesecake Atelier &[g].

Cheesecake Atelier &[g]
&[g] is a cheesecake shop located in Moriya's Seiyu Rakuichi Shopping Mall. The other location is in the Sakura area of Tsukuba.
I have been to both locations, but today I will discuss the Tsukuba location. The reason is that I went to the Moriya location quite a while ago, and I do not have pictures to show you of the place. From memory, I can tell you that I had a positive experience, and the cheesecake was delicious. There are also a few differences between the two locations. The Moriya location is bigger, has a take-out area, and an eat-in area. The Tsukuba location is take-out only. It is just an ordering window. Both locations have similar menus and both locations but I think the Tsukuba location may be the only place that has dog treats for your furry companions. (I'm not 100% sure about that statement, but when I was in the Moriya location, I did not see dog treats.)
During a rainy Saturday last week. I parked my car near &[g] and headed inside.

Inside and Menu
As I said, the Tsukuba location is a take-out only place. There is a nice cozy bed for a small dog, though which is cute.
The menu is on a TV which is above the ordering counter, or you can check out the paper menu at the counter. Sorry, I didn't take a picture of the menu, but I can tell you that the menu has the following: souffle cheesecake, basque cheesecake, baked cheese bar, egg tarts, rare cheesecake, and cheezy dog treats.
I decided to grab a few cheese bars, an egg tart, and souffle cheesecake for our dessert later that night.

Blueberry Egg Tart
When my wife got home, we had a nice dinner cooked by yours truly, and then it was dessert time. I started our dessert adventure with the blueberry egg tart. The instructions for the egg tart are to either microwave it or put it in the oven for a little while. I decided to put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. My wife bit into it and started fanning her mouth. She said it was delicious, but it was like eating molten lava. We let it cool for a minute and then bit in. Less molten lava, more flavorful blueberry deliciousness. If you decide to give this place a try, please get the blueberry egg tart. It is so creamy and tasty. The crust is just hard enough to keep the tart together, but once you bite into it, it crumbles perfectly with all that gooey, sweet blueberry taste. I hope I can get another flavor of egg tart soon.

Plain and Strawberry Cheese Bar
After that amazing egg tart was finished, I presented my wife with two amazing looking cheese bars. The first was a plain flavored cheese bar that was delicious. It had all the flavors a normal cheesecake would have and more. Biting into it was a great experience, and my wife loved it.
What really got her attention was the strawberry flavored cheese bar. It looked magnificent. My wife took a bite out of the strawberry chees bar and her eyes lite up with delight. I took a bite and did the same thing. Biting into that stick was like eating a whole strawberry and then taking a spoonful of cheesecake as a chaser. It was amazing. The only downside was that I only bought one. I will make sure to buy more next time.

Souffle Cheesecake
After our egg tart and cheese bars, we decided to save the big dessert for the next night. Come next night, we dug into the big souffle cheesecake that I bought. I am not sure if creamy is enough to describe this cheesecake. Slicing our fork through this cheesecake was extremely satisfying. Biting into the cheesecake was bliss. The top of the cheesecake wasn't as hard as I thought it was going to be, which was great. I thought it was going to be two cardboard pieces between creamy cheesecake, but that was not the case. It was hard enough just to keep the creamy center of the cheesecake together. My wife and I ate half of the cheesecake and gave the other half to her parents. My wife loved the cheesecake, and so did her parents. They both agreed it was a creamy treat that they would love to have again.
&[g], I have to say that you make a damn good cheesecake. I am hoping that whenever that sweet tooth hits me with a craving again, I am in your area. If I am, you can bet that I will be grabbing some egg tarts and a cheesecake to go.
So if you are in the mood for some delicious cheesecake and are around the Sakura area of Tsukuba, why not give &[g] a chance? Who knows? You might see me there. Ordering another egg tart, and more cheese bars than I know what to do with.
Enjoy!
