Burger Month continues!
Today's post is not about a burger restaurant, but a burger food truck. This food truck doesn't make Japanese style burgers or even American style burgers. They make Brazilian style burgers and they are amazing. I was lucky to try them at last Saturday's Tsukubanominoichi Market in the Tsukuba Tonarie area. After having their burger, I decided to share it with you, my fellow Ibarakians, and how great this burger is. Today, I am going to be talking about Leo's Burger.

Leo's Burger

Leo's Burger is a Brazilian style burger food truck that is usually located around Toride City. They also travel around Sakuragawa City, Tokyo, and Chiba. As I wrote before, last weekend was the Tsukubanominoichi market. I went last Saturday to grab some lunch. I was going into this market blind. I did not look up who was going to be there. I wanted my lunch to be a surprise. If I looked at all the food trucks and stalls and saw nothing piqued my interest, I would go to one of my favorites like Food Truck Bolilian or Kichi Kitchen Car.
On that Saturday, the minute I set foot at Tsukubanominoichi, Leo's Burger was the first tent I saw. What really caught my attention was the Brazilian flag on the burger and the word Vinagrette.
I should mention that Leo's Burger is a food truck but due to the location they were assigned at the market, they could not use their truck and had to use a tent.

The Menu

The menu has only two options; Vinagrete Bacon Cheese Burger or Vinagrete Cheese Burger. For both burgers you can choose a single beef patty, a double, or a triple.
I looked at the menu and thought to myself, what is vinagrete? Vinagrete is a Brazilian style condiment that has chopped onions, tomatoes, peppers, olive oil, vinegar, and salt. If you know Mexican pico de gallo, it is sort of similar to that.
At the time I visited Leo's Burger, I wasn't sure what Vinagrete was. I decided to give the burger a chance and ordered a Vinagrete Bacon Cheeseburger.

Vinagrete Bacon Cheeseburger

I waited a few minutes and then my burger was ready. I was given my burger in a burger box with a small little bottle of pink sauce. The owner let me know that the pink sauce was a spicy sauce that was great with the burger. I thanked the owner and found an empty bench to sit down at and try my burger.
I forgot to mention that unfortunately, this was a solo adventure. My wife was working on this Saturday afternoon so I was at the Tsukubanominoichi market all by myself. I opened the burger box and looked at this marvelous-looking burger staring back at me. I wanted to try the burger without the spicy sauce first. I took a bite and was in a tornado of different delicious flavors. The beef patty was meaty and juicy, the cheese was gooey and incredible, and the bacon was nice and crispy (not American crispy). What shocked me the most about this burger was the vinagrete and how tasty it was with the burger. The vinagrete had an array of different chopped vegetables in it with what I think was olive oil, vinegar, mayo, and one more sauce that I could not quite put my finger on. This burger was great, but it was about to get better.

Put Some Spicy Sauce In There!

I grabbed that small little pink bottle I wrote about earlier and squirted all the spicy sauce onto my burger. That is when my burger went from good to great. This pink sauce had a taste of ketchup and mayo plus some spice to it which I think was peppers. What I loved about this sauce was that it did not take away the flavor of the rest of the burger. It just gave it an extra boost that was most welcomed. It didn't have as much spice as I thought it would, but it was still a tasty sauce.

After I finished my burger, I decided that I would write about it immediately and to have Leo's Burger whenever the next chance would come by. Leo's Burger was incredible and I hope they come down to Tsukuba again soon.

So if you are walking around an event and see a burger sign with a Brazilian flag on it, you may have just found Leo's Burger and you should definitely give them a try. Who knows? You might see me there. Enjoying a burger while spraying some of that delicious pink sauce in there.
Enjoy!
